While they both have advantages, here are 3 primary reasons people enjoy virtual training over online training.

#1. Learning is a social act. Studies show that people crave context and connection, which you don’t get during online courses. When I ask participants what they enjoy most about virtual training (versus online) they repeatedly report they enjoy hearing different perspectives and ideas from others.

#2. Adults have specific needs when it comes to training. One of those needs is to clearly see how they will apply what they are learning. During virtual training people can ask questions, explore ideas with other participants and dig more deeply into examples. This makes it easier to apply what they are learning to their work.

#3. People who are skilled at facilitating in a virtual environment keep participants engaged. They guide people to discuss and practice new strategies. When people are actively engaged, they are more likely to learn and more importantly, retain more. #virtualtraining
